Natural Resources 

      Dandong has abundant natural resources and is a precious place to invest in and to exploit. The amount of the wood reserves ranks first in Liaoning Province. There’re over 50 kinds of underground mineral resources. Till now, we have exploited and used 31 kinds of them. The wild vegetables and fruits, and the local special products, especially the tussah, the tobacco, the ginseng, the chestnut, the strawberry and so on, grow everywhere. Dandong’s pillar ginseng is praised as “Crown of Garden Ginseng”. The area of the sea beach and the fresh water is quite wide. Dandong’s waters teem with prawn, and various shellfish and fish. The green marbles in Dandong is praised as “Crown of Marbles” by the Southeast Asian countries. The water resource of the city is quite rich endowed by nature.
